A next step will
be the addition of a head coach, likely before the end of this season in
anticipation of the expansion draft to come. A trio of candidates are
currently in the picture, with U.S. Under-17 John Ellinger a rumored leader
in the race for the franchise's first head coach. Also in consideration are
former L.A. Galaxy head coach Sigi Schmid and former Dallas Burn head coach
Mike Jefferies.
Steve
Sampson (new LA Galaxy Head coach) and Thomas Rongen (new CD Chivas USA Head
coach) are no longer considerations.
